John 7:2-8.

Jesus proves in this passage that he’s not concerned with being recognized or known.

He just patiently and slowly reveals himself to the world.

This song is a prayer for that life to live in us busy people who constantly strive to be known for business and accomplishment.

May this prayer of slowness and solitude help us grow to live patiently as Jesus did.

Patient Friend is the fourth in a series of brand new meditative worship songs called Morning Prayer.

Christ be my rest
Christ be my life
Christ my peace
Christ on my left
Christ on my right
And my strivings cease

I find you here in silence
You’re always near, but it’s my sin
Of looking down that keeps us apart
But quiet now, I want your heart
My patient friend

Christ be my rest
Christ be my life
Christ my peace
Christ on my left
Christ on my right
And my strivings cease

So here you wait, for me to slow
To hear your voice, at last let go
Of my fearful hold on what I know
So quiet now, I surrender control
My patient friend

Christ be my rest
Christ be my life
Christ my peace
Christ on my left
Christ on my right
And my strivings cease

Christ be my rest
Christ be my life
Christ my peace
Christ on my left
Christ on my right
And my strivings cease
