What I’m up to right now:

Biola

This Spring I finished a music composition degree at Biola University. Woohoo! And I am using the degree! The main thing I’m pursuing right now is songwriting as a career – trying to land some songs with other bands and movies and such through a publishing company.

Redeemer

I’m working at my church Redeemer as a part-time worship leader and songwriter — yes they commission me to write songs! Like mozart! I’m really grateful for the way my church supports art. I’ve also just taken on a part time role at Redeemer mowing lawns and such. 🙂

Brother James

I’m releasing music as a solo artist soon, but for now I’m playing homeshows whenever possible — invite me over sometime to share some songs and stories! I’d love for you to be a part of this project, so swing over to Patreon to become a patron or pop your email into the popup in order to keep updated.

One

This Spring I released an EP that represents a culmination of my time at Biola in the music program and in Torrey — in fact recording this EP was my Torrey thesis. It’s a good distillation of what I gained from Biola. It’s a bit of a rallying cry for the union of Christians in the life of the Trinity, bringing unity especially to the divided Christians in America. This EP is bringing together my work with The Portion, Biola, and Under the Belltower all into one project so it’s really exciting to see all of this finally come together.

Love is Never Wasted

I’ve just finished tracking a score and an accompanying song for a short film, the third in the ReMoved series called Love is Never Wasted. Watch it now at their YouTube channel, or listen to the song on spotify or itunes!

Made it Music

I’m working on a business to help independent artists make a sustainable career and a living with their music. I’ve been learning the backend of modern music release working as a content manager for Scary Pockets and Pomplamoose, I’ve just take on The Brilliance as well, and I want to apply it to more artists now. If you’re interested as an artist, email me and let’s chat.

What is a now page?

According to nownownow.com, pioneered by Derek Sivers:

“Most websites have a link that says “about”. It goes to a page that tells you something about the background of this person or business. For short, people just call it an “about page”.

Most websites have a link that says “contact”. It goes to a page that tells you how to contact this person or business. For short, people just call it a “contact page”.

So a website with a link that says “now” goes to a page that tells you what this person is focused on at this point in their life. For short, we call it a “now page”.
